I use mineral spirits. I’ve seen no adverse effects to paint, anodizing or chrome. I buy it in 1 gallon cans at Lowe’s or Home Depot. It works great.

Wow! Nice find! Like @JohnnyD all I find around me are the rough around the edges kind. With a couple of exceptions that are always too small for me.

This mornings 40 mile ride started with the all too familiar creak. Somewhere between mile 8 & 10 the creak faded away. And did not return for the other 30ish miles. It’s 12 hours since the ride and I’m much too tired to care why.

I doubt I could talk my Mrs. into another road trip for a bicycle. I had better come up with some scheme that makes the bike purchase seem like a side thing.

Creak came back on yesterday’s ride. Today is a rest/maintenance day. Checking the fixing bolts with an allen wrench; the non-drive side bolt had movement while tightening. I will be buying a 8mm allen socket and torquing to 25-50nm. I’m contemplating a dab of blue locktite.
