That's disappointing. I was thinking they might put you on to old stock somewhere. I bought some Sun road rims from Ben's Cycle in Milwaukee a couple of years ago. You may be forced to keep searching eBay and other used parts sources for a wheel. In the USA a lot of stuff turns up in big cities at bike co-ops. Bike Works in St. Louis lists a lot of stuff on eBay but there are lots of other co-ops that do not.

I briefly done a google search on sun rims and it’s just bmx on that site I searched , but I’m going to have another look . When you mentioned rigida xendo disc I found the specs of a badboy alfine 8 2008 that was the ones they listed . I think the rear wheel I have had been laced to a center lock hub to match the front

I just wanted to ask your opinion as your from USA , what do you think about the build quality of Cannondale’s built in Taiwan ? I bought a badboy dl50 2012 brand new from Evan cycles in Wimbledon £999.99 and my fork completely snapped when I was riding on grass , the fork snapped ripping the headshok boot in 2 bits . The lockout did stop working and was bouncing all the time

I only have one Taiwan built Cannondale, a CAADX cyclocross from about 15 years ago. Purchased new as a frameset. It's been a great bike. Disappointing to hear that you've had problems. It's hard to comment without seeing some photos of the issue.

I hope you didn't recieve any injuries when that happened!
That looks like there was material defect in the steer tube. Looks like the metal had an existing crack that went unnoticed in manufacturing. Of course proving that to Cannondale would be next to impossible unless it happened when the bike was brand new, not 13 years later. They would claim it was poor maintence on your part now. SHAME on them but that is reality.
Answering your question about frames made in Taiwan, my 2020 Habit aluminum frame looks and feels every bit as sturdy as my USA made bikes. The finishing on the welds are not as nice as the USA made bikes, but that is strictly a cosmetic thing not structural. The bike has survived several four to five foot high drops while jumping off features on trails. My aging body doesn't like it as much as the bike handles it, that's for sure.

I had facial injury nearly taking out an eye ! I don’t know what to do with the frame as I bought it new but never had the headshok serviced I stripped the wheels off and put on my f700 . My only feeling is that the badboy I bought came with maddux c ( 3 ) wheels and the back wheel started to buckle only after about 15 - 20 miles riding , so I swapped them for ( rigida xendo wheels ) also the mt2 brakes were temperamental so replaced with shimano . I might put on eBay but one of the mount holes snapped but I still got the metal piece

I don't think there is much you can do with the frame since the brake mounting hole is broken. Sure aluminum "can be" welded but it's not really worth the added expense and you'd always have the nagging doubt about that critical part of your safety failing again if the welding wasn't perfectly done. Just not worth the risk. Especially since you were so close to losing an eye already from the failure of the fork.

Your correct it’s not worth the hassle and risk , when the aluminium mount snapped I used 3 large cable ties around the frame and the calliper bracket but it was out of alignment and rubbed sometimes . I’m going to keep the fork bearings just in case but there was noticeable wear on the bottom bearing , where the bearing fits in the frame there was the black anodised coating worn off , which could of contributed to the folk snapping . I never serviced the headshok so I guess it’s my bad

Those bearings are pretty afforable and still available thank goodness. I keep an extra set for a "just in case" scenario. Doesn't hurt that all my bikes but the 92 m700 and 2020 Habit all have Headshoks or Lefty forks either.
I'm curious if the part of the steer tube that snapped was steel or aluminium. The way it fractured looks like its aluminum. I think it it were steel it would have bent vs tear like that from anything except for a serious impact.

Seems an odd place for the fork to fail. I would have expected it to be much closer to the crown of the fork. If the lower bearing was really sloppy it might have contributed to the failure.

Bottom bearing looked like it was moving a lot as the coating was worn off mainly on one section
