I Hesitate to Post This One....

Saw this when I expanded my Craigslist search area out to 300 miles from my local area. I am very tempted by the price. That 2022 Shimano 105 group, new, even now sells for $900 or so online from Performance Bike Shop and others, so it would be easy to get back the money paid for the collection.

Notice the four Cannondale frames. Based on the headtube decals/badges, the two on the right are 80s/90s frames (the rightmost one, in a sideview, seems to have R2000 and 2.8 decals on the top tube. Second from the right is older, I'm guessing, because of the flat-crown fork. The black frame, second from left, has a 2000+ headtube decal, but I can't see in sideview what CAAD revision or model it is. The leftmost, the blue frame, has a 1997-99 headtube decal but no distinguishable model markings.

Gunter, TX. South-southwest of Lawton, OK and between Highway 75 and Ray Roberts Lake.

Nah, I'm wrong. The black frame also has the 97-99 headtube decal, I think.

The rightmost, the R2000 in the fuschia/silver, appears to be a 1993, based on an internet image search.

Nice find!

I’m kinda burnt out on builds. But when I see these photos I can envision in my mind how each of those frames would look once complete.

And you’re right, that group set would be a great buy.

I wonder if a fork could be found on ebay for that blue frame? I wonder if either the blue or black frame are 60cm or bigger? The possibilities!

Looking through the 97-99 catalogs;

The black one looks to be a CAD2 R200

The blue one also appears to be CAD2 logo in the photo. The top tube cable guides are in a different position compared to the black one. I can’t find a catalog picture that matches a particular model. Yet.

The white frame, best as I can tell from the catalogs, is a 1986 SR400. The catalog shows a picture of Connie Carpenter posing with a white bike that may well be an SR400.

The black frame, I'm not sure. It could be an R200, but there was also an R300 that year with Galaxy Black paint with Teal hyper-highlight. Hard to tell from those pictures.

The blue frame could be one of many from 1997. Cannondale used both Galaxy Blue and Galaxy Sky paint that year - Sky on the R500T, Blue on the R500 and R800T. Galaxy Blue was darker than Galaxy Sky, so my guess is it's an R500T frame. It does look bigger than the others.

Additional info on the 1993 R2000 - the paint scheme is called "Raceberry fizz-fade to Rocket Silver" because the fade has little bubble-like dots of Raceberry on the silver....

I don't think the quadwrap decals on the blue frame were available in 1997 so it's either a 1998 or 1999. Team Blue with yellow decals was available on the 1999 R4000 but that was a CAAD4 frame and I think the one in the ad is a CAAD3. Doesn't look to have a model number so it could be a replacement frame. I'd love to have it as my only CAAD3 has a slight dent in the top tube. Wouldn't mind having the R2000 either.

If I weren't up already commited to several bike projects this year the R2000 would make for a nice looking build. Gunter is only a 100 miles from me.

Yeah, I figured you were probably closest of the regular posters. Wondered if you'd swoop in and grab this lot. ;-) For some reason, I've always liked the Cannondale fade paint jobs - they had a few little details that made them more interesting....

As I tell people now, I already have more projects than motivation right now. The Cervelo TT frame is still upside down on my master bedroom floor. I did take off the wheels, chain, derailleurs, aero bars, and bar-end shifters. I need to get a couple more tools to remove the crankarms (Hollowtech II). I haven't even bothered to look at the stuck seatpost.

Besides, higher priorities have reared their heads. Car goes in for service next week (oil change, brake fluid change, the washer fluid pump quit working *again* - it was replaced just last year), and MINI USA has extended the warranty on the evaporative emissions system purge valve. I assume that means they think it might expire in the next few years.

Plus I need to see if I can fix the drain on the guest bathroom sink. I hate plumbing.

I'd certainly like to pick it all up as well as Brian's Jekyll he has for sale. One can't have enough Jekyll's! Sadly, I can't afford to pick up more bikes. On the Super V alone I have the rear shock to have rebuilt or do myself, and have the Lefty done as well eventually. Then I've got to finish the paint prep, paint removal SUCKS now with proper chemicals since you can't buy effective paint strippers any longer, and finish that bike.
Life just get's in the way of the wants and dreams way too much.
