Hi guys. Can anyone help me find the Colour code for the Blue used for the 1999 Volvo Cannondale Team replica Mountain bikes?

Wish I could. All I can tell you is that the color was called Team Blue. My guess is that there is a record of paint codes at Cannondale HQ, but persuading someone to look one up might be challenging. On the plus side it's a simple color, no metallic or any other treatment in the clear coat. You can probably come up with a close match by taking it to a local automotive paint retailer and having them match the color.

Hi, thanks for that. I did try Cannondale, but although I got a reply, they weren't that helpful. My best lead was from a Volvo Owners forum I joined :D I got this Volvo Blue 125 colour which is quite close, although it was first used in 1977.

Unforunately I don't have the Frame anymore to take to a retailers.

Are you wanting to build a replica? I have the team blue paint on a 1999 R4000. It would take me a while to get to it, but I could take it somewhere to be matched. Can you buy PPG paint in the UK?

Oh, that would be brilliant. I had a F700sl back in 1999 and sold it about 8 years ago when I got my

RZ140. I've got a Quick that I'm wanting to tinker with and I'm going to do it the old team colours. Found decals online. Think it'll be a nice nod to the old bike. I recon I could get PPG paint here.View attachment 4072

Happy to do it given some time. Checking with a friend who had some paint matched for a motorcycle recently. From memory, he told me it was PPG and the store is about 35 miles away from me. You might check around in the meantime and see if the match will transfer to your paint supplier. I don't have any experience with color matching.

Cheers for that, by the way, I stumbled across this. You would have thought the guys at Cannondale would have mentioned it when I contacted them, especially as it's on there Wedsite!! Listed as Team Blue.

I've had great luck with LA Colors nail polish...on my vintage Cannondales that is...
The blue and red in the pics are extremely close and it's almost impossible to see where the touch up is.

Oh, and the blue above was used to touch up my 2000 F700SX. The red was used on my 1998 XS800.

Brian, the page 1 and page 2 links appear to be the same information. Was there another page of colors? Team Yellow is on that page, but not Team Blue.

I had found this link a while back, but the dates didn't match up. The Blues were either too early or too late.

Did both links result in the same pdf for you? Wondering if there is another list of colors. Viper Red, Team Yellow, and Team Blue were all common colors in the late 90s/early 2000s. Seems odd that red and yellow are on the list but Team Blue is not.

Yup, both links were the same. I know Cannondale used the Team Blue colour for the Volvo team from 1998 up until 2002, not sure if it was used before or after. Found this nice photo on a Face book site. I did contact them, but not heard back.

Pretty sure 1999 was the first model year for Team Blue, but some of those frames were built in 1998. Believe all the early Volvo bikes were Viper Red, as were the Saeco road frames.

I'm sure Team Volvo Cannondale switched to Team Blue in 1998, and then Cannondale started producing the Team Replica's in 1999. You could get Iris Blue in 1998, but not team blue.
