does anyone have experience on ride comfort and general harshness improvements on vintage Alu frame bikes with a more modern front fork be it carbon, steel or aluminium?
just looking to take some road harshness out from the front end if anyone has any first hand experience if it helps or not?

thanks in advance

I am terrible at evaluating ride qualities of frames, forks, tires....other than lower tire pressure generally rides better. I have Cannondales with steel, aluminum, and carbon forks. I would hate to generalize concerning ride characteristics related to fork material.

What is the bike and present fork?

A modern suspension fork is far better. However, these vintage bikes have a different ride than modern. The good thing is you can swap a modern fork in to ride and always put it back to original. Just keep in mind the rake/travel.. these bikes were intended with a certain travel.
