I don't know much about the early Super Vs. The 1995 SV 700 still used the aluminum swingarm, while the other models used the new carbon swingarm. All 1995 SVs came with Fox air sprung shocks. In 1996 the two remaining high pivot SV models came with Fox coil-over shocks. I'd check with Craig at Mendon Cyclesmith about servicing your shock. If you don't have any luck rebuilding your original shock, I'd check with Fox to see if they can supply one to replace it.

That is a specific made shock made for the early V's 93-96. It uses a special mount, like the 1st gen Raven. :(

From what it looks like is a Marzocchi. It has the build date in the circle. Usually all air shocks are the same. Air chamber and a O-Ring seal.

I agree, reach out to Mendon Cycle Smith, and see if they will re-build it.

and... does it have a Mendon Cycle sticker?

no stickers.

Marzocchi uses a circle stamp in the aluminum for the build date. The date will be in the center "93"

that will show it is a Marzocchi shock. pretty sure its a Marzocchi shock.. I will have to look it up, my memory is getting bad for the certain years. :)

This is a Marzocchi A25 Rear shock. You can refer to the service manual from:

You need to dismantle the shock from the bike and by following very simple steps, and change the leaky O-ring. I have replaced mine with a 40mm inner diameter x 3mm thickness O-ring and the problem has been solved.

Unfortunately, this shock has a major design flaw: The O-ring works dry. Therefore if the bike sits for a long period, it is beneficial to inject a few drops of suitable oil into the shock and let it move a few times for the oil covers all the o-ring peripheral. If you can insert some spongy thing that oils the piston as long as the shock moves, you will elongate the MTBF.

Hope these helps.

Hi,
My SV2000 has the same shock. I'm looking for a shock used for the bikes sold in North America. I will be happy to know the model or specific data belonging to their shocks (FOX ALPS 4 I think, however, as far as I've seen there are two variants of this shock regarding to the upper attachment point, whether one hole or clevis style like my bicycle).
Does anyone knows whether FOX ALPS 4 shock has an oiling feature for its air chamber seal? Does it oils the piston as it moves up and downwards
Thanks.

Hi,
Does anoyone knows the model of the Marzocchhi shock used inside the headshock? Mine seem to be too soft, I would like to service it or buy a replacement.
Thanks.
