I'm Getting There.........Well, I got the frame back from the paint shop, but only for long enough to apply the Cannondale Frame Stickers, then I quickly rushed it back to the paint shop so they can lacquer it early next week.

Very pleased with the quality of their work, the Audi Nardo Grey looks stunning, with a really deep shine and the time I took to prep the frame to get a good finish is now worth all that hard work.

Now the frame and forks are back at the spray shop, where a coat of lacquer will be applied which will seal the frame decals and then It's just a day to reassemble.

Just got my frame and forks back from the paint shop after they gave it a coat of lacquer. They’ve done a great job, it just looks wet, the shine makes it even hard to photograph.

First 100 miles completed, no issues, no stone chips, no punctures. She rides better than new, with the updated components and every part fully refurbished. Even the head shock is working as it should.

I'm regretting that I didn't think to suggest pink decals, after seeing a slate with pink 1987 SR400 posted here earlier this week. It would have been a nice throwback/tribute livery but the bike looks great and I'm glad to hear that it's living up to your expectations.

DAY 3 : The Frame

Wow, didn't realize how long this would take, I started off using some fine wet & dry on a DA Sander and very lightly removed all the paid on the main tubes, but was unable to get into all the tight areas, so used Nitromoors Paint Stipped to get into these areas. Cannondale paint is very stubborn and I had to apply plenty of paint stripper multiple times to ensure all of the paint in the tight areas was removed. This took a whole day, but now it's ready to go to the paint shop for a professional finish.

Yes...... The bottom bracket will be removed for painting, it was just handy to use to move the frame around when it was covered in paint stripper.

Sorry for lack of pictures during this process, filthy hands and an IPhone just don't go together.

Color - Undecided at the moment, but considering "Nardo Grey" ...... I think it's an Audi colour, and going to get them to spray the base coat, re apply the Cannondale frame stickers and then seal with lacquer.

Ordered these frame stickers, both are suitable for applying lacquer over, just see which is best quality and will suit the grey paint.

Looking forward to seeing the decals on this. I have just had mine stripped and keeping the brushed metal but I am getting it lacquered. I can’t decide if I should add decals or not.
