    Brake pad upgrades

I've used Kool Stop on my Cannondale cantilever brakes since 2018. I think that I'll stick with the brand. I'm very satisfied. Customer service has been responsive as well.

    Mavic Ksyrium wheels

My preference is to have a wheel hand built from components that you research and pick out individually rather than buying a pre-built wheel that was built by a machine. Wheels can be a great performance booster for your bike, but they are super pricey. I had a set built up for my three month...

    Super V prototype? value

I've been waiting for a 1994 Super V to show up so I could share this. Advertisement taken from September 20, 1993 Velonews.

    Highest touring model seen

Also this 19" 1992 T600. The only year for that model. Very clean.

    Highest touring model seen

I saw this today and it peaked my interest; a 1991 ST600. The only year offered with Grip Shift bar end shifters. A bit overpriced though.

Where did you ride your Cannondale today?

Did you have to walk 14 miles home after all that?!

Where did you ride your Cannondale today?

Sorry to read of your mishap. Falls are never good for the rider or bike. I was just reading the post about your bike from 2022. I really like that color, and the way you bought it as frame trade-in was very interesting. I hope that you heal quickly and can put you bike back in good order.

    Threadless stem adaptor/conversion - opinions?

Forgive the pun, but I feel your pain. I totally agree with kjop in his assessment that maybe you are riding a size frame that doesn't fit you. I too am older and have six fused vertebrae in my neck that make a more upright riding position critical to my comfort and safety. I have always thought...

Vintage bikes dead in your area or still going?

I came up behind a pretty well taken care of mid 90's Cannondale hybrid on my way into town this morning. I made sure to compliment the rider on his choice of bicycles. I would of asked him more, but I got the impression that English wasn't his first language. Always good to see an older...

    Stage race with your Cannondale

If anyone was interested in putting together a Vintage Cannondale team for a future year of Ragbrai, I'd be all for it. It would be a way of meeting and riding with fellow enthusiasts. Maybe some European friends could make the trek as well?

    Stage race with your Cannondale

That was my experience as well. There is another type of race that doesn't involve a category license. It is called a citizen race, and that is what I competed in. Riders left in groups based on their age. I would quickly be off the back trying to keep up, shortly thereafter I would be caught by...

    Stage race with your Cannondale

My counsel is DON'T DO IT! I tried my hand at racing when I was in my 20's. There is a high level of bike handling skills involved. Overlapping wheels, tangled handlebars. There are all kinds of ways for you and your bike to never be the same. I remember thinking to myself that this is what it...
