Weight discrepancy

Until today I never thought to compare the claimed weight of Cannondale frames in the catalogs to the actual weights. While working on my '94 Super V today, I got the wild idea of weighing the bare frame and swingarm. The catalog claims 4.4 lbs. . I got 3.4 lbs for the frame and 2.4 lbs for the swing arm ( exactly what Rear Swing Arm and Rear Shock Info page lists for the alloy swing arm). Combined that equals 5.8.. When I add in the weights of all the rear pivot hardware it made it right at 5.94 lbs. While not a big deal because I am FAR from a weight weenie when it comes to bikes. I am left puzzled as to where Cannondale got the 4.4 lbs they list in the '94 catalog for the Super V frame.

The catalog says 4.4 lbs but doesn't say if that is the frame only (states "bare frame weight") or if the swingarm is included. Below it states that the frame, fork, and stem weigh 7.65 lbs. It's not clear if the rear shock is included. I'd be interested to know how your bike weight compares to the 25-26.5 lb weights claimed for complete bikes.
I have a couple of 1992 bikes that are pretty close to original spec, and one 1993 that is completely original except for seatpost and saddle. Will try to check the catalogs and see if weights are listed for complete bikes and see how mine compare.

If memory serves me correctly, it weighed just over 28 lbs when I built up the frame with the DL80, 1x11 drivetrain, Race Face carbon crank and the disc brakes. Should be under that with the Lefty and it's lighter wheels that I picked up for the Lefty. We'll see. Right now the lightest bike I own is the F600 which is just over 27 lbs.

I would have to weigh them all again but I'm guessing that my 1995 M900 is my lightest MTB. Catalog says 22.4 lbs. but with tire changes, rack and accessories it's around 24 lbs.
