Rehabilitated Super fork For Sale

If I’m posting in the wrong thread I’d hope a member will let me know.

I acquired this fork when an eBay member accepted a low ball offer after purchasing another fork on eBay. I didn’t rescind the offer in time.

The Super isn’t needed but sent both forks to Mendon Cyclesmith for rehab.

It has a new Suspension Forks Elastomer and is actually in pretty good condition, I hope the photos reflect that.

I am asking $200 in an effort to recoup my expenses. Feel free to make offers. Lastly if there is any other questions please ask.

I have an XS800 cyclocross (700C) fork that needs to be rebuilt, was rusted solid when I received the frameset. Could you measure from the edge of the headset cup to the axle centerline? I've read that 700C tires will fit on the 26" forks but don't remember the maximum size. Your fork will have more travel than the original so might raise the front of the bike some.

For your consideration. 700C wheel with 32-622 (700-32C) Miyata branded tire. It’s not even close to 32mm wide. I’ll get you more detailed dimensions later as I need to get ready to work to feed my bicycle project appetite. Let me know if there’s any specific images you would like.

Thanks for the photos. The XS800 will primarily be used on mixed surface road rides in good weather. While I'd prefer a slightly wider knobby tire, I could make do with a 30 mm commuter type tire. Lots to consider here as I would need to build a disc brake wheel and buy a rotor and caliper. It would be helpful if you could get that measurement for me.

I measured from the top of bearing on the fork that inserts into head tube to the top of axle drop out at 18.75” then add 5mm for the radius of the front axle diameter. Convert it to metric makes it 52.6cm, wish I had a metric meter stick. The tire on the wheel in image measure about 28mm so I’d think you’d be okay with 30mm. But that also depends on the ETRTO of rim and then the manufacturer of tire. I’ve noticed the GravelKings measure very close to labeled dimensions so perhaps even 32mm would fit. From personal experience Schwalbes some Continentals fill out larger than advertised. Please advise if I’ve answered your questions.

Did you measure from the edge of the cup, essentially from the bottom of the head tube if in a frame?
I'm running 38 mm Schwalbe Big Bens on another XS800 with about 10 mm clearance to the fork, which seems adequate.

46.8cm to the top of the dropout from the headset cup the drop out opening is 10mm.

No problem. I had a set of wheels made up for the Miyata project I’ll apply a 32-622 GravelKing that I want on the Miyata. I can place it in the Super and pass along images if it has clearance. Not expecting to make my money back on the Super but also would like to see it gone.

32-622 GravelKing with 25/32 tube installed inflated to 79psi. Astral Leviathan rim 20mm internal and 23mm external. Tire measures 33.17mm wide and there is 4.77mm top of tire to bottom of fork. My caliper barely reaches the gap measurement. I have a poly gap gauge where the 3/16” increment is a snug fit. I’d ride with it as long as I knew I wouldn’t be getting into mud. Hope this helps.
