Odd serial number on my +/- 1990 3.0 series

I pulled my 3.0 series down and cleaned it up today... sort of cleaned...
It was my first major purchase with my first paycheck from my "career" job after college in Sept. 1991; I bought it brand new from Joe at the bike shop on A1A in Cocoa Beach, FL.
I haven't ridden it in probably 9 years. Either it shrank, or I grew... a lot. I must have been much more limber then.
I put zillions of miles on it; it went everywhere I went, even to Europe in summer of 92 (I like to say I rode all the way from France to Switzerland, but the border was in the little town my best buddy lived in, and we had to ride across the border to buy beer and bread).
I can't begin to imagine how many miles I rode on the beach in Cocoa Beach/Cape Canaveral.

At any rate, the serial number is 02007900524, which doesn't make any sense according to the serial number decoder here.

Would there be any interest in this bike? I hang onto it for sentimental reasons, and frankly it's time to let it go. I doubt my nephews would want it; they love "new", and this doesn't look new...at all... Remember, I lived on the beach for the first 21 years I owned it...

I think the serial number breaks down to:
0 = 130 dropout spacing
20 = 20" frame
07 = July
90 = 1990
524 = sequence number (I believe # built that month)

I'm kind of surprised at the 130 spacing. Although that's all that's needed for 7 speed, I would have guessed all the MTBs were 135 mm. It's been a long time since I owned one that old. Looks to be a 1990 SM400, can't tell if the components are XCM. If it were a year older and 22" I'd be interested. Someone will want it. You would probably get the most money from it by taking it apart and selling the frameset on eBay.

Ouch, it hurts to think of taking it apart, but I see the point. What was I thinking, buying a 20" frame? Sure, I was skinny in '91, but I was (still am) 6 ft tall.

I wish I had a picture of my '89. I was just over 6' and bought a 22" frame. Your saddle looks pretty low, what's the measurement from crank center to top of saddle? I run around 83 cm on a road bike, a bit less on a MTB. I run the saddle higher than most as I have knee issues if the saddle is on the low side. I'd think you ought to be able to set the bike up to be useful to you even if you'd prefer a 22" now.
