I've got, I believe a 1999 jekyll with a lefty. I am wondering about 2 things right now #1 does anyone know where I can get the specs like head angle and such.

#2 how do I rebuild the lefty and where can I get the needed parts?

HTA on a Jekyll is 69.5. Pretty sure 2001 was the first model year for the Jekyll.

Talk to Craig at Mendon Cyclesmith about Lefty repairs.

thanks for the reply. the reason I was guessing a 99 is the stamp under it said 99 on it. but I have had this bike for 5 years now and not looked under it since I bought it

First year for the Jekyll was 2000. I bought mine new in February of that year. The cool thing about the Jekyll was that the geometry was adjustable by threading the shock forward or backward in it's trunnion. For the 2000-2002 models the head angle could be adjusted anywhere between 69.5 to 71 degrees.

thanks, that is cool I will try adjusting that. does it reduce my travel range? what is the travel range on this bike?

As I understand it, bottom bracket and head angle change while the amount of rear wheel travel stays the same. I couldn't find a spec for wheel travel of the early Jekyll, but the 2003 catalog states that it was increased to 135 mm that year.

Jekyll doesn't show in the 2000 catalog so I'm wondering if MikeA's bike is a very early production 2001 model.

The first gen was 120mm rear travel, which didn't change with head angle adjustment. Mine is definitely a 2000 model, ordered in Jan 2000. It was in a supplemental brochure, which I still have.
