Hi I recently bought a second Cannondale MTB from looking at pics etc. on the net I think its an F400 to 600 I have the serial code but it doesn't comply with any of the sequence codes on this website.

05607
1118 5FL5W19

this I found on the underside of the bottom bracket, pic attached.

Can anyone help me with this?

Cheers

You are right, it does not comply with the examples on the site.
How does the logo on the headtube look like?

I'm not finding any front suspension models in that era that have that finish. There were a couple in '96 but they didn't have the same decals. Is it CAAD2 or CAAD3? Perhaps components would give us a clue.

It's a CAA4 the original stem and gear mechanisms have been replaced!

More pics attached that might help

Cheers!

Being CAAD4 narrows it down a bit. Could be a 1999 F1000, F3000. The F2000 and F4000 had disc brakes and the lower models were CAAD3. Could be a 2000 F1000SL. Most of the 2000 CAAD4 Headshok frames were disc but the F1000SL was rim brake. Cannondale equipped some bikes with Magura hydraulic brakes that year, but I think they all had a front disc. The rear was a rim brake. Cannondale may have changed the spec during the model year and substituted the Magura hydraulics for the V brakes. The F1000SL was smoke silver with black decals. Are you sure your bike isn't painted silver? Really hard to tell from your photos.
