Early 90's M700

Hi -

I have a Cannondale M700 that I bought while in college in 1992 or 93 (I can't remember exactly). I absolutely loved this bike. I rode it pretty hard right up into the early 2000's (then we had kids and of course, life changes).

I kept it stored in the basement and it is pretty nice working condition. Now, my kids (15 & 13) are into biking. We did purchase a few bikes that they grew out of quickly. My 15 y/o wants to ride this 'ol m700 and wants to show it off to his friends..

Unfortunately, the Manitou 2 shock is blown. I cannot find the original pepperoni fork that I removed 20+ years ago. It is likely buried in an attic somewhere at my parents house..

Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket fork out there that will fit this bike?

Lastly, after close inspection, the craftsmanship on this bike frame is pretty amazing!

I think that's a 1993 M700. Among my favorite Cannondal MTBs: light, simple, mid-level Shimano components that run forever.

I'm guessing that your bike has a fork with a 1.25" steerer. I think your best bet given what you have said is to search your parents' place and find the original fork. 1.25" forks were only popular for a few years.
