Cannondale 2.8 Series Road Frame

The 2.8 was the top of the line road frame from 1992-1996. I don't think the geometry changed much but there were several different forks used. AL forks were used on the early bikes, but carbon was used on the later upper end models. There are geometry charts in each of the catalogs, available to download at the top of the page. It's best to determine the year of the frame and check that year's catalog as I'm seeing slightly different top tube lengths between the 1992 and 1996 charts.

This is the frame I have.

Looks to be a 1996 frame. Does it have a model number? The only blue 2.8 I see in the 1996 catalog is the R2000 (Matte Panama Blue). R600 and up had the carbon fork in 1996.

You are correct. I bought the frame separately. It had no decal or label as a R Series Bike.

Matte Panama Blue? Where can I get that?

If you're definitely going to repaint it, you might try sanding through the blue and see if another color shows underneath. Perhaps it was a replacement frame and that's why it doesn't have a model decal.

I would start at your local automotive paint dealer and see what they can come up with.
