Hi, i know its not headshok per-say but i have a question regarding my F700 (year 2000) headset. The headset bearings dont feel good. Did any of you service the bearings ? Is it possible to find new cups ? (1.56). I see 1.56 bearings cartridge on the internet for sale, will they fit ? (Part HD-169). Many thanks, Q.

Yes they fit. You can also find new bearing cups as well, although unless they are damaged during removal from the frame they seldom need replacement.

I would recommend buying headset bearings from a reputable online retailer like Universal Cycles,Cannondale Experts, Cannondalespare , etc.. or you can buy them directly from Enduro Bearings
Part # B 543 LLB SS
I've replaced all my Lefty/Headshok bearings and keep the orginals are "spares" after I clean and service them if they aren't corroded and rusted inside. I typically buy them from Universtal Cycles or Performance Bike/Nashbar . Servicing them is just like any other cartridge style bearing. Carefully remove the dust seals, clean with a good degreaser and reapply grease

Hi! The F700 from 2000 does use a 1.56" headset, which is a bit uncommon. The cartridge bearings you found (HD-169) should fit if they match the dimensions of your current bearings (usually 39x41x6.5mm for 1.56”). If your cups are damaged, finding replacements might be tough, as they're rare now. If the cups are okay, replacing just the bearings is usually sufficient. Clean and grease everything well when reassembling. Good luck!
