1998 cad3 Team Saeco Frame/Hub spacing

Hello!

I'm currently in the process of rebuilding my 98' cad3 Team Saeco road bike, and wanted to go from the current 9 speed (Ultegra 6500) to an 11 speed (Ultegra 6800). I'm pretty sure the current freewheel will not be compatible, nor will I be able fit a compatible one on the current Mavic CXP 30's, but correct me if I'm wrong. I'd like to upgrade to a pair of Mavic Aksiums, which will take the 6800 group set, but I'm afraid the rear hub will be too wide for my current frame.

Does anyone happen to know the rear dropout and/or hub spacing on 98' Cannondales and whether or not a jump up to an 11 speed setup is possible?

Thanks!

I'm sure the rear spacing was 130 mm, which is still the standard for 11 speed road. Just be careful on what wheels you buy, as there are surely some 135 mm spaced wheels out there for cx/gravel frames.

Thanks for the info! I figured the spacing was also 130mm, but I went to my local bike shop to make sure. Ends up, the old Shimano Ultegra 5600 Hubs won't fit an 11 speed freewheel, plus my Mavics had seen better days. So...I threw a new pair of Aksiums on her and will use the old Mavics for a gravel bike build in the future! Cheers!
