    RD issue or frame flex?

Thanks all! I do have a new cassette @black lightning 1987 it’s a SRAM 9 speed. It is part of the final mods that I plan on doing soon. I’ve slowly been converting the bike over to 105 components. Just the brifters and crank assembly remain. Those parts are awaiting in a box in the shop for me...

    RD issue or frame flex?

Chain is good. Not at the .5 wear indicator yet. Buuuut, I do see sharks teeth on the cogs. Guess my eyes weren’t trained enough awhile back…

    RD issue or frame flex?

I have not checked the B screw lately. Will do. Thanks. Original cassette, and likely the chain as well.

    RD issue or frame flex?

Hmm, no I don't think the derailleur is moving. Because I've gotten off the bike and lifted the rear wheel with one hand and pedalled with the other and the chain returns to the previously selected cog. But the jockey wheel portion of the RD is usually pulled forward. Chain bind of some sort...

    RD issue or frame flex?

I’m unable to determine a cause for my chain attempting to change gears on the rear cogs when starting from a dead stop. This is on my 2001 R400; triple front, 8 speed rear. It only happens when stopped at a stop sign on a slight incline. It is where I’ve got a busy street to cross that...

Where did you ride your Cannondale today?

2004. All I’ve done is service the hubs and clean and lube the chain/freewheel. It was “minty” when I picked it up. Well taken care of. I do need to do a gallery photoshoot….

Where did you ride your Cannondale today?

I took a boring in front of the garage photo of the R500 immediately after today’s ride. Yes, my “smart” phone rides with me, but I find it difficult to stop during a ride. Today was the third ride of the week. No thanks to wildfire smoke creating unhealthy air since mid July I haven’t ridden...

    1986 SR1000

I am truly sorry to read of your health struggles Brad. I lost a favorite Uncle a few years back that lived with that. I know it frustrated him to no end as he was an avid outdoorsman. Like you he pressed on as best he could doing what he loved. If you find joy in half a block ride and can get...

    Hello from a 80's C'dale Employee

There is a youtube video from inside the factory from the early 2000’s and the host was a C’dale employee. I tracked him down on linkedin and asked him to join us over here, but never received a response. He was there during ‘04-‘07 so you probably didn’t know him. His name is Andy S. Not sure I...

    2024 full LoToJa Race

It is not that far, sort of. That would take a lot of training to accomplish. Impressive to say the least. At my current fitness level I couldn’t imagine being that fit to finish. Wow! Maybe next year? On my ‘04 R500 or The Batbike….
