Headshok Ultra DL80 Parts - Split Ring

I heard back from Craig. He won’t sell me the part but said he would do a full-service on the fork, including replacing the missing split ring. I’m guessing it’s going to cost half of what a new, decent front suspension fork will. Maybe time to invest in a new front fork (or a 3D printer)?

Headshok Ultra DL80 Parts - Split Ring

I believe you are correct that adapters are needed. I’m wondering if it is worth it myself to just upgrade to another fork.

Headshok Ultra DL80 Parts - Split Ring

Hi IdahoBrett. Yes, thanks! I sent an email off to them and waiting to hear back. In the meantime, I’m looking for a replacement fork. I would hate to have to replace the original fork, but a newer, more modern suspension fork would probably make it more fun to ride.

Headshok Ultra DL80 Parts - Split Ring

Anyone know of where I might find this? I serviced my Headshok and lost one of the split ring pieces. I can't believe I lost it! I've tried CannondaleExperts and scoured the web. Failing that, I will need to replace the Headshok with a different fork. In that case, any recommendations? Not...

If you had the money to buy a new bike would you?

@JohnnyD it is still the yellow bike . It’s a good thing the bike won’t be available until next summer so I have some time to save up for it.

If you had the money to buy a new bike would you?

I actually would do both - buy a new bike that I've had my eye on. I own a hardtail but would like a gravel bike more suited to road riding. I also would like to build a bike but haven't looked into anything yet. A question for folks - do you find building/restoring a bike to be more costly...

    F4 MTB Drive Train Recommendations

Well, I got my bike back from the shop, new drive train installed and it's amazing! No problem with peddling uphill and the bike just feels great. The only thing is after the 3rd ride, the gears seem to be slipping and not shifting smoothly. Possible needs the tension adjusted, which I will...

    F4 MTB Drive Train Recommendations

Aw, I don't mean to cause frustration. I know I ask a lot of questions - it's just how I learn! I bought the bike new. I don't think the F4 came in a petite size (only the F6). It's still a smaller frame size than any of the petite hard talils out there now - unless you get a step-through...

    F4 MTB Drive Train Recommendations

I was also thinking about the crankset. Just because my bike currently has a 170mm, does it mean that’s what I should have for my height? I am just 4’11 1/2” to under 5’ tall and 61 yo. Maybe I should have a smaller crankset size?

    F4 MTB Drive Train Recommendations

So, just reading some things about NX vs. GX. Cassette One of the biggest differences between the NX and GX lines is in the cassettes. The NX cassette features loose gears with plastic spacers between them and fits on your standard freehub body with splines. The GX cassette upgrades to pinned...

    F4 MTB Drive Train Recommendations

Well the the bottom bracket tool and cable cutters alone plus cable housing would have cost me another $100. After watching the video by Park Tools - on how to install this groupset, I saw more necessary tools that I would have to buy. I think the bike shop up the road could install it for...

    F4 MTB Drive Train Recommendations

I reached out to Worldwide Cyclery. They were really great, and answered all my questions. Anyway, I ordered the groupset, crank and bottom bracket. I even got 10% off using CapitalOne. I'm super excited! Thanks JohnnyD!
