    Trying to ID CAAD8 bike.

I've seen many of your bikes, it's a great collection. I paid around $450 for a CAAD9 frameset a few years back, and $950 recently for a nice CAAD6 with Record 10, Neutron wheels, and Hollowgram crank. Here's a nice discussion of people's favorite CAAD model. The CAAD8 got some votes...

    Cannondale F600 Furio?

I would guess that it's easily worth $300.

Any more details on this Silk Road I just bought?

It could be an XS800. Picture of current tire size should be conclusive.

Any more details on this Silk Road I just bought?

Easiest way to be sure is to read the size of the tire. I'm pretty sure it's an F series mountain bike, built specifically for Backroads for use by people on their bike tours. The long serial number on the fork(?) appears to be specific to Backroads. Head tube decal would help place the year...

    Trying to ID CAAD8 bike.

I don't see that paint in the catalog, but it looks to be a 2005 or 2006 frame. For more R-W-B Cannondales, check out the R1000 and F2000SX in the 2000 catalog.

Any more details on this Silk Road I just bought?

It's not a Silk Road. Does it have 26" wheels?

    Installing foam bar pads

It's not a problem with rubber grips but I guess that it might be possible for water to get through the foam. My guess is that there is a solid base film that water won't be able to penetrate.

    Installing foam bar pads

I usually use a bit of glass cleaner to ease rubber grips onto flat bars. You don't need to soak the bar, just a light mist. Guessing it would help with foam as well.

What Tire Size for 1987 Criterium?

I checked the only two 28s that were handy, a Continent Ultra Gatorskin and a Continental Super Sport 100. Both are older German made models but both had plenty of clearance on the front. Caliper is the original Shimano 600 (6207) and both rims were within .5mm of the Wolber rim width. I have...

    Cannondale CAD8

Thanks. The last complete bike I bought came to me from OH and cost $100 to ship. Folks say that ShipBike is currently the cheapest bike shipper but I haven't used them.

    Cannondale CAD8

I wish that were close to me. Fair price and I don't have a CAAD8.

    Cannondale Series 6

Not sure that's a 2020 model, I don't see any pink on the frame in the catalog but it could be a feminine model. You can buy a new Quick 6 for $650, but the current bike has Microshift components instead of Shimano which may not be a bad thing...

    Used Synapse Ultegra worth $1500?

Looks like a great bike to me. The only thing I might change would be to put bigger tires on it. They came with 28 mm tires but I'm not sure if bigger will fit. The later Synapse SE models came with 30 mm tires and the 2018 catalog says that 32 mm tires will fit, but I don't know if the...

Is my Canondale rare? Please help never seen one before

It must be a 1FG (fixed gear) with the eccentric bottom bracket. Someone added the derailleur hanger and the cable guides on the down tube to convert it to a geared bike. I don't know what the numbers in the dropout indicate. I can't remember a 1FG that was painted white, but they may have...

'Best' years for vintage Cannondale touring bikes?

I wouldn't have either. Nor would have I thought it possible to bend the housing around and get it under the tape while remaining decent looking. It's great to be able to see what folks have tried without taking the time to do it on our own.

Is my Canondale rare? Please help never seen one before

I'd say that you won't hurt the value of the frame by a repaint as long as it's going to be something you ride and enjoy. I wouldn't attempt to pay for a repaint and period correct build if you intend to resell it. Could make a perfectly fine rider but my take would be to build it up to your...

Is my Canondale rare? Please help never seen one before

That looks as if someone welded in a mount for a kickstand. Definitely doesn't look to be Cannondale weld/finish quality. I don't know much about the urban models but those cable guides don't look right either.

    CAAD9 Restomod

I've had a bunch of nice road bikes that weighed 22-23 lbs. 25.5 for a 1992 MTB sounds lightweight to me.

That looks as if someone welded in a mount for a kickstand. Definitely doesn't look to be Cannondale weld/finish quality. I don't know much about the urban models but those cable guides don't look right either. There is a rectangular outline in the paint that is probably remnants of the...

Is my Canondale rare? Please help never seen one before

Street was still a model in 2005. The loops on the seat stays were gone, but there was no Headshok model that year. Still looking.
