    1989 SR600

Very nice looking! An original owner bike of this vintage isn’t common. Any interesting stories that you’d like to share? Local races, hair raising rides, etc.

Beast of the East- Orange Splatter edition

I got bored this morning so I made the BOTE rideable with parts I have on hand. It shifts and stops and rolls just fine. For now.

    Ebay: R800

Well it’s “mostly” a bike. Just a couple odds and ends and you’d be riding!

Beast of the East- Orange Splatter edition

I’m glad I left it to a pro at the LBS. The ”cheapest” tool was too expensive. My decades of rushing projects that resulted in mistakes is finally causing me stop and pause. At least this time…. A stomach bug bit me earlier this week so bike work stopped. I’m a little hesitant on finishing the...

Beast of the East- Orange Splatter edition

LBS did me right. I dropped off the frame with the new BB-UN300 in case he wanted to check the thread cleanup. He went ahead and installed it and re-faced the frame while he was there. For only $20.

Beast of the East- Orange Splatter edition

If only the tooling could be had for around $150. I’d buy one.

Beast of the East- Orange Splatter edition

I called my LBS yesterday. They have the tool and usually charge $25. I’m hoping to bring the frame in today. The weather has been in a cold phase the last two weeks so they might not have a waiting list.

Beast of the East- Orange Splatter edition

The excitement of a new BB arriving yesterday ended with a disappointment this morning. There is something wrong with the threads on the drive side of the frame. Which was not apparent with a visual inspection when I bought the frame. Hand threading the BB into the frame was met with high...

    1994 H300

The seller graciously took it back. No more damaged frames/forks for me. Been there done that. Got the t shirt.

    1994 H300

I brought it home. It’s too big for my wife. It is a 22 inch frame. The largest hybrid frame for that year. I missed seeing a dent in the top tube before bringing it home. Now that I know it’s there I can see it in the drive side ad picture. I’m feeling bad about it. Maybe I could’ve negotiated...

    1994 H300

Through the winter months I only check c-list once or twice a month. This time of the year they start creeping out of the wood work. The paint on this one matches the 93 M500 I got my wife. She probably won’t be excited. Well not like me…

Beast of the East- Orange Splatter edition

I never weighed it until yesterday. Trying not to scratch it or our newish truck while lifting it into the bed hasn’t been fun. My wife’s 93 M500 is a feather comparatively.

    1994 H300

It’s raining vintage Cannondale‘s lately. At least on my local Craigslist. I’m guessing tires and brake pads. Wishful thinking. Probably. I can’t seem to interest Mrs.Idaho in a drop bar road bike. A hybrid? Maybe. For $150 I might have to…

Beast of the East- Orange Splatter edition

I agree much easier to set up. I’ve fixed up close to 10 bikes with saddle cables. They kicked my butt every time in one way or another. I’m looking forward to finishing this up. The weight savings vs my other summertime camping bike. Moving the BOTE around yesterday was so much easier. Granted...

Beast of the East- Orange Splatter edition

I’m down to new cables, chain, pads, BB and adjustments. I would rather have installed cantilever brakes, but I’m using what I have in stock.
