Caad4 R800 identification help

Hello everyone. This is my first post here so apologies for the request for help already.

Just picked up a caad4 R800 frame set that I’ll be hoping to do a custom paint job on when the weather allows. I’m having trouble dating this one though as the head tube sticker suggests 2000-2007 but the bb shows 54’ rather than letters. Can anyone out there date this by any chance. Id be most grateful and will post the final results up somewhere on this site if I can work out where to post it. lol.

Thnx in advance.
Ed.

My guess is the LK represent the year and month, making it November of 2000. Whether it is a 2000 or 2001 is tough call since it is just a frame, but if was made as a production bike, that is a late date, so I would think that it was built to be a 2001 model. Not all frames are intended be built up as bikes however. Some are just there as a part to be sold, or frames for warranty replacement. Was the seller able to provide any information about the bicycles history?
Do you have the original fork?

Hi Buddy. That’s great information thank you for the help. And yes that makes a lot of sense in terms of year as the forks I do have that came with it are 1-1/8th. I’ll attach a pic of them.

Unfortunately for me in my hast to get to my next destination I didnt have quite as good a look over it as I should have. Upon cleaning the frame it became obvious there were lots of areas that have been (rather badly) hand painted. Which of course came off showing the extensive scratching.

It’s all going to need a full respray which is going to cost moss than it’ll be worth at this point. So I plan to do that myself when the weather allows.

You’ve given me a good idea of the year now though so thx good that. Much appreciated.
