Looking to confirm my Cannondale SM500 year (and model frankly)

Hello! New here, hope it is fun. Time allows us to get more active on the bike so I am fixing back up my 1980's era Cannondale mountain bike. I believe it to be a SM-500 from 1987 based on comparing to the vintage Cannondale catalogs. Blueberry color with Suntour components. I bought it new back in the late 80's, just not sure what year. A keeper, just fixing it a bit and looking for opinions on a good street tire also.

Serial number on the bottom of the back tire frame (underside) 220-1787042.

Photo in current state (been in my garage for all these years, safe and sound)

Thanks in advance! Shannon

Thank you Black Lightning, the components definitely helped narrow down to a specific year. It is a Sugino crank also.

Cannondale was nice in replying also, double confirm now. A 1987 for sure.

Since we will (wife and I) be road riding, I decided on the Maxxis Hookworm tires:

What width are the Hookworms? I've had similar tires from various manufacturers in the past. Ritchey Tom Slicks were one. I think they came in 1.5" and another size which I can't recall.
