    1997 F700 - Full Restoration

Just got my frame and forks back from the paint shop after they gave it a coat of lacquer. They’ve done a great job, it just looks wet, the shine makes it even hard to photograph.

    1997 F700 - Full Restoration

I'm Getting There.........Well, I got the frame back from the paint shop, but only for long enough to apply the Cannondale Frame Stickers, then I quickly rushed it back to the paint shop so they can lacquer it early next week. Very pleased with the quality of their work, the Audi Nardo Grey...

Yep, powder coating and the heat process is fine on a steel frame, but on an alloy frame i wouldn’t risk it.

    1997 F700 - Full Restoration

I decided to go with paint as opposed to powder coating. Unsure of how the alloy frame would have dealt with the powder coating process of being baked on at 175 degrees centigrade, and was assured the paint (Automobile) Will be fine for trail/trekking.

1999 F2000 Dream Build? Vintage w/ modern twist feedback (Cancelled)

I purchased a new F2000 almost as soon as they came out in 1999, after having my F700 stolen on it's transit back to England. My F2000 was the same color as yours and one of the first hydraulic disc braked bikes (That worked). But for some reason I just never quite fell in love with it as I had...

    1997 F700 - Full Restoration

Yep, the XT pedals are really light. The 1997 F700 had 8sp cassette as standard, so stuck with original 8sp for the rebuild, may try going up to a 44 on the front, if the deraillure can handle that, that’ll be fine for my trail/river bank riding.
