    Super Fatty Ultra DLR80

Wish I could help, but if it was fully disassembled, and reassembled in the same order, with no damaged or cracked components noted and replaced, then at that point, I'd have to see it personally, as guess work rarely turns up solid results.

    Greetings from The Mendon CycleSmith

Hey Bruce, so, something in your description is confusing me. I don't sell the brand, bike wise, so I'm unfamiliar with the design you may have. Can you post a pic? If it were a conventional "threadless headset", you'd loosen the pinch bolts on the stem, then snug the one in the middle of the...

seeking info on missing parts to install headshock to CAD3

Can you remove the top cap (smiley face looking thing at the top of the fork) and post a pic of what is visible inside? It can't be "completely gone" as the air piston is attached to the lower end of the damper shaft, and if it's holding air, well, damper shaft is still there, if only in part...

seeking info on missing parts to install headshock to CAD3

Got more pics? Does it have the damper in there at all? My services won't automatically replace that stuff, as it's rare at this point. There's also a lot of slight variations on them over the years, so until I have something in my hands, it's tough to say yes or no for sure.

So someone swapped seals a lot, and it never got better? Curious if your air valve is blue, or silver? Asking, cause there was a problem with that generation of Headshock, and many had constant leak issues. If the blue one is in place, you have the "fix" already. Silver? Yeah, you never got...

Sorry, the site is getting some work done, the form is currently inactive. Just use the "Contact us" link, and email me, I'm still here... :)

Most LBS's, at least the honest ones, won't due to lack of proper tools and knowledge. Dealers would offer to send it to Cannondale, who won't work on stuff as old as you have. Which is why I offer to help. Folks send me forks from all over the world. I can help you remove it yourself too...

So, assuming no one has gone in and chewed on it, it should be quite serviceable. Lockout loss is typically either tired seals or loss of oil in the damper. Both of those are easily dealt with during service. Happy to help if you wish.

    Lefty Speed Carbon Sl 2009/2008

Well..... I'll just defend myself and say I don't sell parts or offer complete tutorials, for a number of reasons. I've been on the Cannondale fork service end for a long long time. DIYer screw ups are a major source of revenue for me, so you'd think I'd encourage it, but surprisingly, I...

seeking info on missing parts to install headshock to CAD3

Sorry for the late pop in, but yeah, you're gonna have a hell of a time finding just the damper shaft assembly for that puppy. Sadly, that's old enough, I doubt it's worth the hassle of seeking, unless you get really lucky. Those dampers were SO unique to each model, and models changed so fast...

    replacing a boot (1998 Silk Path 300)

These guys. https://www.suspensionforkparts.net/eshop/cannondale.html Not the most communicative, they typically never answer the phone, or emails, but they do, absolutely, sell a decent product, and will ship it if you order. Need the rest of the job done, well, that's where I come in. ;)

    replacing a boot (1998 Silk Path 300)

They can be slid over the steerer if you remove the fork. Takes a bit of effort, and careful, don't tear it. Yes, most easily done during a service when it's all torn down. If it's been a few years, likely not a bad idea to get it done, and replace the elastomer inside while you're at it...

    Super V4000 Raven

My two cents? Not worth a whole lot, particularly as a whole bike. If you're trying to make it go away? Likely not more than $5 to 600. Want to make the most possible? Part it out. The cranks alone, will get a couple hundred if in nice shape, and with the bottom bracket. First gen Ravens...

    Lefty Compatibility

They did XL clamp spacing briefly, during the era of the forks when the clamps were literally part of the upper, not just clamps, bonded on to an aluminum leg. They were also white, don't recall them doing the XL's in black, during that time, but they did offer black or white for standard...

    Greetings from The Mendon CycleSmith

Hey folks, Brian (our illustrious founder) asked me to join your forum so I could hopefully bring a bit more information and assistance to your neck of the web. I'm not much of a pusher of myself or my business, so please understand, me, putting myself out there like this, isn't really how I...

    First gen. Headshok questions

If your frames headset cups sit flush to the head tube, you have a new enough headset that you can use a newer Headshock or Lefty. If your cups sit proud of the frame, and have small pinch bolts, you need to get the newer/SI/flush fitting ones. All this is to allow a newer Cannondale...
