I have a near perfect 54cm Crest Cannondale ready to ride. Bought it new. For sale, but would prefer to trade for a Red Shred in similar condition. Whatchu got?

    Carbon fork ID

A '95 R-400 wondered into my life, sporting a carbon fork. Was this an factory option on this bike or is it likely aftermarket. The fork stem (tube?) sports the following ID sticker:

October of '95 -- but what size?

GK 81-0302 03426 150172 5801156 In the last set of numbers, bottom right, the second character might be a 'B' such that it would read 5B01156 The bike is an R400 2.8 series and it looks to my eye to be a 56cm. I don't think it's a 58 cm . . . ? (BTW, the bike in my avatar/profile is a...

    Red Shred ISO

Thanks much. Only a Red Shred will do as I'm trying to replace one I had years ago. BTW, I have an '86 black lightning, in fact it's the one in my profile picture.

    ST-300 or ST-500

Rode my "$40 Cannondale" for the first time yesterday! Still waiting for the correct front wheel which I found on ebay in a nearby town. I'm still torn between dressing it out as a survivor or taking it back apart and painting the frame and fork. It is a maze of scratches and gouges, none...

    ST-300 or ST-500

LOL, well, a forty dollar Cannondale is a bit like a "free" horse. I paid almost as much for new tires as I did for the bike, and it hasn't stopped there! The bike is on the tipping point of survivor on the one hand, and complete restoration on the other.

    ST-300 or ST-500

Wow, a treasure trove of information. I think the best bet is mine was/is an ST-300 perhaps built by a shop. I'm fairly sure that the components on the bike -- with the exception of the front wheel -- were those on it for the ensuing 34 or so years. The front wheel was obviously replaced at...

    ST-300 or ST-500

Correction: the first C'dale I bought new was an '84 SR-300, not an '83.

    ST-300 or ST-500

I recently scored what I believe to be a '83 Cannondale. Serial number is AA00*40. First of all, am I correct in thinking that it is an '83? Second, the '83 catalog elsewhere on the vintage C'dale site does not show components for the ST-300, but does for the ST-500. Mine appears to have the...
